Senior Fèis
Fèis Week 2026
28th – 31st July
Senior Fèis offers pupils already receiving regular instrumental tuition the opportunity to develop their skills.
Under the direction of Scottish singer-songwriter, Findlay Napier and composer multi-instrumentalist Hamish Napier the participants are offered four days of ensemble and small group workshops. At the end of each day they will join the main Féis for an activity of their own choice: art, ceilidh dancing, shinty, gaelic games or group music making.
The programme is aimed at experienced players – those who have been receiving regular tuition on their instrument for some time already i.e. anyone in the High School Trad Band and / or with 3 years or more playing experience in at least one instrument.
Participants will be invited to perform, either solo or in a group, in the Fèis Participants’ Concert on the Friday afternoon
Fees are the same as the main Féis: £85 – the additional siblings discount is available if you are booking more than one child onto either Féisean.
Sessions will start each day at 1:00pm and finish at 3:30pm.
Fèis Arainn is very fortunate to have one of Scotland’s most creative singer song writers and guitarists teaching at this year’s Fèis. Findlay will be directing the instrumental ensembles and small group workshops at Sgoil-feasgair.
One of Scotland’s finest songwriters. In 2021 he was nominated for Musician of the Year at the Scot’s Trad Music Awards and in 2018 he was the first solo act to be nominated for Live Act of the Year.
Described as Micheal Marra meets Elvis Costello, a Caledonian Loudon Wainwright or a Scottish James Taylor this master storyteller’s songs are full of earthy humour, hopeless love and biting satire.
